The fifth annual reception to celebrate the foundation of the Turkish National Police (TNP) was held at the Rutgers-Law School atrium on March 27, 2008.

The Honorable Mehmet Samsar, The Consul General of Turkey in New York, Adam Graycar, The Dean of Rutgers School of Criminal Justice, and Professor Richard Langhorne, The Co-chair of the Rutgers School of Global Affairs, delivered their speeches at the reception where the members of the TNP who had been killed in the line of duty were commemorated.

The distinguished group of 225 people was comprised of guests from the Turkish community in the US, local and foreign academicians, and members from local and federal police organizations.
